Our client is seeking a Marketing & Brand Manager to fill an immediate need at our Nairobi office. The Marketing & Brand Manager is responsible development and deployment of the brand including look and feel for all internal and external brand applications (media, internal /external UI, collateral, portal, etc.) media development, lead management and demand generation, customer experience messaging, marketing communications, Voice of the Customer initiatives such as customer experience and satisfaction, analyst relations and subscriptions, competitive intelligence reporting, social media and premium content – initiatives that support lead generation and revenue objectives.

Tasks include planning, analyzing, and implementing key marketing tactics to drive revenue, meet the brand’s sales/growth goals and branding objectives. Additional task is activating strategic and tactical marketing plans designed to solidify the brand and position in the market, as well as generate leads and sales. A critical role for this position is to serve as a passionate communicator and advocate for the company.

Most importantly, the Marketing & Branding Manager will be the strongest and loudest brand manager with globally dispersed customers.


  • Create methodology of leveraging cross-organizational skills for optimal branding, positioning and value proposition delivery
  • Define and develop strategies social media, perpetual demand generation strategy, and mobile platforms
  • Develop multi-channel marketing programs that drive sales and have clear and SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timed) goals and budgets
  • Track, evaluate & analyze campaigns/programs for continuous improvement
  • Manage, copy-write and edit marketing communications (Public relations, emails, video, Social Media campaigns) to support SMART goals
  • Copy-writing of internal, online and media-focused communications
  • Manage and work with web and content teams to continuously optimize SEO online and implement successful off-line SEO strategies
  • Oversee traditional advertising, web, and social media campaigns for lead generation/conversion Project manage, lead and coordinate activities with product development and sales teams to understand product specifications and potential opportunities for translating specifications into compelling messages, value propositions, and marketing plans
  • Analyze industry and product trends in the marketplace to ensure brand is a leader in the industry/remains competitive by developing thought leadership around marketing as a whole which enable the understanding of broader communication trends and competitor dynamics
  • Drive revenue through demand generation and retention campaigns based on the “get-keep-grow” customer methodologies. Use of closed loop marketing to evolve campaigns and measure results
  • Assume a key organizational role in enhancing customer experience and loyalty
  • Collaborate with and engage cross-organizational teams to align brand, messaging, and lead generation programs


  • 3-5 years marketing or PR experience
  • Direct Marketing and Brand Management experience
  • Experience developing both strategic and tactical marketing plans


  • BS/BA in Marketing, communications, entrepreneurship, or journalism is;
  • MBA would be preferred; Results-oriented experience developing and implementing comprehensive marketing, branding & messaging campaigns in addition to public relations, social media and integrated marketing efforts; 
  • Experience analyzing quantitative marketing data and formulating decisions from the data;
  • Experience marketing in the media industry is a must;
  • Experience in ecommerce marketing is a must;
  • Results oriented go-getter - Must have experience being successful in a dynamic environment, who is detail-oriented and has a strong focus on delivery milestones;
  • Strong communication and consensus-oriented decision-making skills – strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen effectively and communicate in a proactive fashion;
  • A creative eye and attention to brand detail/consistency is essential;
  • Strong organizational, project management and tactical execution skills a must;
  • Excellent leadership skills - can communicate business strategy and effectively lead/energize others to support the execution of the marketing plan;
  • Strong copy-writing, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Customer service orientation - experience in a services business where responsiveness and client sensitivity are critical success factors;
  • Highest ethical standards, strong work ethic, highly resourceful and ability to perform effectively in a high-paced, demanding environment;
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of social media must; experience with Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Forums, and blogs;
  • Working knowledge abroad or for an international company (NGO) is a plus
